01 · Portfolio

Focused businesses on one shared foundation.

Biwada is the parent company behind Starling Quantitative and Airlock Studio. Alongside those two core businesses, we run an internal venture arm to test low-cost, high-upside product ideas in real markets.

01 · Quantitative Research

Starling Quantitative

Our quantitative research and forecasting desk. Starling finds mispriced probabilities across event and derivatives markets using multi-model consensus, Power and Shin devigging, out-of-sample Brier calibration, and strict Fractional Kelly sizing.

Trades strictly internal capital. Does not accept outside investors or offer investment advice.

02 · Vertical Software

Airlock Studio

Our software studio building straightforward, flat-rate tools for small and midsize businesses tired of bloated SaaS contracts. Every product is built in a strict two-room clean-room process (17 U.S.C. § 102(b)) from original specs.

Simple month-to-month pricing, isolated customer data, and full exportability with zero lock-in.

03 · Venture Lab

Commercial Ventures

Beyond our two core studios, we take selective swings on low-investment, high-upside commercial ideas where buyer demand is strong and existing options are weak. Because our core infrastructure is already built, we launch fast and test real willingness to pay.

Every bet starts on a tight budget cap. Misses stay cheap, and proven winners earn the resources to scale.
02 · Shared Operating Model

Built to ship fast, stay lean, and scale what works.

Most startups burn months and six figures rebuilding basic plumbing before learning if anyone wants the product. Biwada runs every business on one shared, agent-native operating system so new ideas ship in days and capital only follows real traction.

01 / SHARED INFRASTRUCTURE

Build the Plumbing Once, Launch in Days

Cloud hosting, multi-tenant auth, Stripe billing, domains, security scanning, analytics, and automated bookkeeping are already wired at the parent level. When we start a new business, we skip months of setup and go straight to shipping the product at near-zero marginal cost.

02 / AGENTIC EVERYWHERE

AI Agents Across Every Function

Specialized AI agents are built into every layer of how we work, not bolted on as an afterthought. Agent workflows drive market research, clean-room specs, full-stack engineering, automated browser QA, and search distribution, giving a lean team the output of a much larger firm while keeping key decisions in human hands.

03 / STAGE-GATED RAMP

Every Product Proves Itself to Unlock Spend

Nothing gets a blank check. Every new product starts on a tiny, hard-capped budget and must prove real demand, conversion, and margin at each stage before unlocking more time or capital. Ideas that miss cost almost nothing, and proven winners scale fast.

04 / COMPOUNDING ADVANTAGE

One Breakthrough Upgrades Every Business

In most portfolios, wins stay trapped inside separate companies. Because our businesses share one operating layer, any breakthrough built for one brand—from statistical pricing models to automated security gates and organic growth engines—rolls out across the rest of the portfolio the same day.

Origin of the Name

Why “Biwada”

In the indigenous Taíno language of Borikén (Puerto Rico), Bi means life or beginning, and Wada (from Guada) means garden.

Traditional polyculture gardens grew distinct, complementary crops in the same prepared soil so the whole plot stayed productive and resilient across seasons. Biwada works the same way: independent businesses in quantitative research, software, and commercial ventures growing from one shared root system.
